Osservazioni sul prologo della Lisistrata

Abstract:
The aim of this paper is to suggest a new reconstruction for the stage-movements in the prologue to Lysistrata. Differently from what is generally believed, it is very unlikely that a group of non-Athenian women accompanying Lampitò, the Boeotian, and the Corinthian enters the orchestra following two other groups of Athenian women, which in turn form the chorus. On this new reconstruction, which is more faithful to the text of the play, a number of otherwise puzzling details fall into place.
