Sensitivity and accuracy limits of molecular imaging in fluorescence guided surgery

Abstract:

Fluorescence guided surgery (FGS) is an emerging imaging modality seeking to improve optical contrast in the near infrared (NIR). FGS offers real time imaging capabilities to help surgeons identify tissues of interest with higher precision and specificity during surgery. The increased contrast is provided by fluorescence emission from non-specific or specific fluorescent markers.
