Abstract:

Medial unicompartmental knee replacement (UKR) has many advantages over total replacement (TKR) including better function and less morbidity. However, the long-term failure rates of fixed-bearing UKR are high because of polyethylene wear, lack of sophisticated instrumentation and imprecise patient selection.
