Design and synthesis of inositol phosphate-based probes

Abstract:

Inositol phosphates play a fundamental role in many intracellular processes. Of particular importance is the role of phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-trisphosphate [PtdIns(3,4,5)P3] in the protein kinase B (PKB/Akt) signalling pathway. PtdIns(3,4,5)P3 recruits PKB to the cell membrane through binding interactions with its pleckstrin homology (PH) domain.
