Abstract:

The nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR) is a member of the Cys-loop receptor superfamily of heteropentameric ligand-gated ion channels. The nAChR subfamily has 17 different possible subunits in vertebrates that are found in multiple stoichiometric combinations.
