Exponential asymptotics in unsteady and three-dimensional flows

Abstract:

The behaviour of free-surface gravity waves on small Froude number fluid flow past some obstacle cannot be determined using ordinary asymptotic power series methods, as the amplitude of the waves is exponentially small.
