- When, at the beginning of the fifteenth century, hostilities between France and England resumed, neither of the two armies resembled only the great companies of knights they had faced a century before. Throughout the last hundred years, the nobility had had to face other military realities and had adapted their way of fighting to remain the queen of battles.
