A search for massive top quark resonances with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider

Abstract:

This thesis presents a search for resonant production of top-antitop quark pairs in final states containing at least one electron or muon. A number of beyond the standard model (BSM) theories incorporate a specific role for the top quark, resulting in resonances that preferentially decay to t(bar over t) pairs.
