Abstract:

This thesis describes the synthesis of halogen bonding receptors for integration within interlocked anion host systems.

Chapter 1 introduces the field of supramolecular chemistry, with a particular focus on anion recognition and sensing, halogen bonding, and the synthesis of mechanically interlocked structures.
