Abstract:

Chronic myeloid leukaemia (CML) is a myeloproliferative neoplasm characterised by the presence of Philadelphia (Ph) chromosome. The standard treatment is tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKI), while they achieve remission in many patients, the majority will relapse on cessation of therapy. This indicates that TKI do not ablate the CML stem cells.
